Study in Poland

Welcome to Poland, a modern and vibrant member of the European Union that places a strong emphasis on education. Poland has become increasingly popular among international students, not only from Europe but also from around the world.
With a population of over 38 million, Poland boasts nearly 400 universities and higher education institutions, with 1.2 million students enrolled in 2020. It has one of the oldest academic traditions in Europe.
According to the latest Study in Poland Report (2021) by the Perspektywy Education Foundation, the 2020/21 academic year saw 84,689 foreign students from 189 countries studying in Poland, an increase of 2,495 students compared to the previous year. Foreign students now make up 6.95% of the total student population in the country. This upward trend has been ongoing since 2005, following the launch of the long-term “Study in Poland” program by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and the Perspektywy Education Foundation. The rise in internationalization, reaching 6.95%, can be attributed to the growing number of foreign students studying at Polish universities. In previous years, this increase was also influenced by a decline in the number of local students, but last year saw a slight increase, with a total of 1,218,046 students in Poland – over 14,000 more than the previous year.
